Various systems in your vehicle are engineered to ensure that the components on both sides of your vehicle are in congruent condition.  

The lifespan of brake parts varies, based on factors such as the make and model of the vehicle, climate, brake components, and driving habits. Brake pads or shoes may last between 30,000 to 125,000 kilometers. Brake fluid typically lasts 2 to 5 years.

Due to the unpredictable nature of replacement intervals, it is crucial to conduct regular brake inspections. Consult your vehicle owner's manual for recommendations. Typically, checking every 15,000 to 20,000 kilometers or annually is recommended.

If you observe unusual sounds or reduced pedal responsiveness while braking, it could indicate the need for new brake pads, rotors, or more brake fluid. Squeaking from worn brake pads may escalate to the grinding noise of unprotected rotors.

Both worn pads and low brake fluid pressure can lead to unsettling delays in pedal response. Warped rotors can also cause vibrations during braking, distinct from the pulsing sensation of your ABS system activating.

What are the signs of failing brakes? • Your dashboard brake light is lit even if you are not stepping on the brake. A false Check Engine light or ABS light may indicate brake issues. • Brake fluid is leaking. • Significant changes in brake response such as stepping on the brake pedal farther or extended braking time.

• Hearing unusual sounds when braking, like grinding, squealing, squeaking, rattling or hissing.

• Feeling a vibration when braking could mean warped rotors.

• Spongy brakes could be a sign of brake fluid lines or brake shoes issues. • If your engine misfires or stalls, you may have a bad vacuum booster.

• If your car pulls to one side when stopping, check for faulty brake hardware or an uneven hydraulics.
